Across the school years, our camping and outdoor education program gives students opportunities to build friendships, grow in confidence, strengthen resilience, develop leadership and learn more about nature, themselves, others and God.
Each camp is designed with a clear purpose. Younger students begin with connection, independence and confidence-building. As students move through Secondary School, camps become more challenging, stretching students through outdoor adventure, teamwork, cultural learning, spiritual reflection and preparation for life beyond school.
Through shared meals, group challenges, outdoor experiences, worship, reflection and time away from everyday routines, students discover strengths they did not know they had. They learn to encourage one another, try new things, manage discomfort, solve problems and take meaningful steps toward maturity.
Our camps reflect our commitment to holistic growth. We want students to flourish academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Camps give students a different kind of learning experience, one where courage, team work and leadership skills are put into practise.
Year 4
Year 4 camp introduces students to the joy of learning and growing beyond the classroom. For many students, this is one of their first school camp experiences. The focus is on building confidence, developing independence and helping students feel safe, supported and connected as they take part in new activities with their peers. Students begin to practise responsibility, cooperation and courage in age-appropriate ways, supported by staff who know and care for them.
"It was my first time going to camp, but it felt good. I think it’s good to go to camp because you get more independent. I liked climbing up high on the high ropes. It was a bit scary, but I did it." - Natalie
Year 5 & 6
Year 5 & 6 camp continues to build independence, friendship and confidence. Students are encouraged to try new activities, work together and grow in their ability to navigate shared experiences away from home. Through group challenges and outdoor learning, they continue developing social skills, resilience and a stronger sense of belonging.
"We all had a lot of fun and we all went out of our comfort zones. When you go out of your comfort zone, you might feel a little scared but after you feel better. I tried the giant swing that swings out over a massive cliff, and I went to the very top!” - Ryder
Year 7
Year 7 camp helps students build connection and belonging as they transition into Secondary School. The focus is on friendships, teamwork and confidence. Through activities like creek expeditions and abseiling, students are encouraged to step beyond their comfort zones while learning cooperation, trust and resilience.
"During camp I definitely felt closer to my class. This camp helped me grow my faith with Jesus and showed me that nothing is impossible if you believe." - Farrah.
Year 8
Year 8 camp focuses on identity, mateship and community. Students are given opportunities to reflect on their personal strengths, values and interests while continuing to build deeper relationships with their peers. Through team challenges and outdoor skills, students grow in resilience, emotional intelligence and cooperation. This camp helps students develop a stronger sense of belonging within their cohort.
"Our three-day adventure at Emu Gully was an unforgettable experience that pushed us to our limits through grit and collective effort. Over the two nights, we learned that no obstacle was too big as long as we worked together and communicated as a team. It was a rugged, rewarding journey that turned individual challenges into shared victories and brought our group closer than ever." - Amane
Year 9
The Year 9 camp is a multi-day Challenge Program hike where students spend several days hiking through the Gold Coast hinterland, carrying their own gear, preparing meals, setting up camp and learning how to keep moving forward together. The experience is designed to stretch students physically, mentally and socially, while helping them grow in resilience, perseverance and teamwork.
“It was really fun and I think it challenged us really well. We worked as a group and we got to know each other a lot more. And yeah, it was hard, but we pushed through and it was so much fun at the end." - Vivienne
Year 10
Year 10 camp encourages adventure, exploration and confidence. Students are challenged through active outdoor experiences such as surfing, mountain biking and bouldering. These activities help students build physical confidence, practise safety and risk management and develop a greater appreciation for the natural environment. This camp gives students the opportunity to push their boundaries, discover new capabilities and strengthen bonds with their peers through shared adventure.
Year 11
The Year 11 trip gives students an immersive experience of Central Australia where they encounter the beauty, history and significance of Australia’s red centre and grow in their understanding of Indigenous culture, history and perspectives. This camp encourages cultural respect, environmental connection, personal development and a deeper appreciation for the land and stories of Australia.
Year 12
The Year 12 retreat supports students as they prepare for their final year of school and the life that comes after it. With a focus on spiritual growth, cohort connection, leadership and study skills, students are given space to reflect, reset and strengthen their sense of purpose. The retreat helps students deepen their connection with God, build supportive relationships and develop practical tools for navigating the demands of Year 12. It is a meaningful pause before a significant year, helping students step forward with greater confidence, maturity and support.
"This felt different to other camps because, it almost doesn’t feel real, but we are drawing to a conclusion in our schooling. I enjoyed all the outdoor adventures. And we spent a sunrise at the beach reflecting on our lives and thinking about the kind of impact we want to make in the future. It was a really memorable camp." - Kyle
Growing Through Every Stage
From first camp experiences in Primary School to senior retreats and major journeys, our camping program is intentionally shaped to help students grow.
Each year builds on the last. Students develop confidence, courage, friendship, resilience, leadership, cultural understanding, spiritual formation and independence.
These are the moments students remember. More importantly, they are often the moments that help shape who they become.
